A Presentation on The Fall of the Berlin Wall

A Presentation on The Fall of the Berlin Wall In-Person

For 28 years, the Berlin Wall stood as a physical barrier between the free Western world and communist Eastern Europe. In the summer of 1989, East Germans stood up against their government to demand free elections and the right to travel. On November 9, 1989, the world witnessed an unprecedented historical event, when East Germany announced the opening of the border and in effect, The Fall of the Berlin Wall.

Come and join us in the Community Room to hear about the Berlin Wall, its ugly history and its celebrated demise at the hands of jubilant East and West Berliners.

This program is presented by local educator Matthias Becker.  Matt has a BA in History and is passionate about sharing his knowledge on this important topic. This is a free event; no registration necessary.  Light refreshments will be served.
