The April 1775 Ride of Israel Bissell In-Person
Dayne Rugh will present the Saga of the 1775 Five Day Ride of Israel Bissell, the man who carried the First Alarm Letter from Lexington that the Revolution against the British had started on April 19, 1775. Bissell carried the news to Patriot groups, including the Leffingwell Inn in Norwich, through CT to Philadelphia.
This event is sponsored by the Leffingwell House Museum and Otis Library to commemorate the 250th Anniversary of the Battle of Lexington. Light refreshments will be served. Free and open to the public.
